We rarely stay in paid campsites, but this state park was a must-see on our list, as we wanted to see some of the famous sand dunes that are found all over around here. For $18 USD, we were able to stay almost anywhere within the area of Little Sahara Recreation Area from then until the next evening.
This place was super fun to visit and it was a quiet night’s sleep. During the day, ATVs and dirt bikes were roaring around, so don’t expect a totally peaceful daytime! It was also very windy, which is to be expected I imagine. We stayed away from facilities, which apparently existed somewhere in the park, including a dump station, potable water, and even flushing toilets! We were freshly refilled recently so had no need, but did find their dumpsters useful.
Definitely worth a visit for a soft sandy beach experience in the desert! I’d also love to check back next year to see if it looks like things have shifted, maybe even measure it for the following year…
